Frankly, the Nokia Lumia 900 looks exactly like the Lumia 800 from before, but to say it bluntly, it’s just, well, you know – BIGGER! Sporting that same lovable unibody polycarbonate design as its smaller-sized sibling, it’s absolutely a pleasure to behold since it’s still so foreign looking when compared to everything else out there. Sure, some of us might think and wonder for a moment as to why they didn’t go with a new design, but to tell you the truth, this is how Nokia is going to distinguish its Lumia line from everything else. All in all, it’s still one fantastic and chic looking device that embodies a lot of hip qualities.
Thankfully, the added size means that we also get a larger display this time around – so yeah, its 4.3” WVGA AMOLED display with ClearBlack technology is a wonderful thing to see. Yet, its resolution will hardly jump out as being detailed in this day and age, but nevertheless, it’s sufficient enough for most things. Since this is an AMOLED panel we’re dealing with, it sports some nice viewing angles and poppy looking colors to enthrall us from our seats. Providing most of the power, its 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8055 CPU is happily more than enough to deliver a smooth performance sliding up and down the homescreen– though, we were barred from running apps on the handset during our quick look since it’s a pre-production unit.
Appeasing photo buffs, the handset is graced with an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a wide-angle F 2.2 lens – still, video capture is set to only 720p. Knowing that this one is packing an LTE radio inside of it, we’re curious to know what kind of battery life we’ll be seeing out of its generously sized 1,830 mAh battery. Sadly, we’re left to dream about owning this device right now because it’s tagged with the notion of being available “in the coming months.” Furthermore, its pricing in unknown for the moment, but as Stephen Elop boldly mentioned at the official unveiling, it’s going to be an aggressive one. AT&T customers, be prepared!
